"For a great start in life"
Alberton Primary School is a small rural school situated in the centre of the township of Alberton, six kilometres south of Yarram on the South Gippsland Highway.
The school is approximately 225 km South East of Melbourne and is set on approximately four acres of land that features an oval, a hard court playing area and a children's playground.
The school is made up of a number of buildings, which are predominantly portables. It is about to be fully reconstructed under the "Building Futures Program" with permanent buildings set to replace the current ones. The school is looking forward to this process occurring which is due to be completed in October 2009.
Alberton Primary School's purpose is to educate children by:
providing a current, motivating, challenging curriculum;
providing a safe, secure friendly environment where parents, staff and students work cooperatively to support each other and achieve excellence;
teaching and encouraging children to become responsible and effective members of their community;
developing skills and confidence to keep learning independently in a world that is constantly changing.
